Reflection 23/05/13

The past couple of lessons in creative media we have been filming the scenes that need to be filmed at school. These are the detective office scenes which have been filmed in a small old office in Reeves. The office is working really well and we have been using our filming time really effectively. We filmed the first couple of scenes without lighting as we thought the office light was fine. We then the lesson after that filmed the same scenes again with lighting and reflectors which ended up looking a lot better and enforced the sub genre of film noir more. Our group has been very organised so far in terms of getting things done with the amount of time space provided. We have organised to do the filming at Bella's house this Saturday afternoon as we are all free and are able to do it then. Bella will be taking me on leave for this and we have alowed 3-4 hours to do this which should be plenty. We have also organised for Bella's little sister to be our victim and her dad to be the murderer. We figured the more realistic our film could be the better. We have also so far titles the film "A Night to Remember", but this could change.

Reflection 15/05/13

The past couple of lessons in creative media we have been working on the ideas and planning for our film. In my group there is Isabella, Julian and Shae and our task is to make the starting 3-4mins of a film noir film. We have decided to to one about a girl called Emma who hops out of bed one night and finds her sister dead on the floor in the living room. She has dirty clothes on and blood on her clothes but the question is did she kill her or was there another murderer? A detective quizzes her about the murder and you discover the story through constant flash backs and memories that Emma displays. The film is going to be the theme of suspense with the sub theme being film noir. We have done the costumes and props list, the plot list and the start of the shots list so far. We are planning to begin filming the office scenes next week and then filming the actual murder at Bella's house next saturday. I feel that we all have the same image in our heads of what the final product is going to look like and that it will work really well. In class last lesson Mr. Andrews ran us through an activity of where he gave us a what, a when, a where and we had to make up the rest. This activity showed us the many different ideas we all have from even being given the w's. Our group is trying its hardest to make sure that we all have the same film playing through our heads and that the film will be the best we can make it!
