Reflection - Wall E
Today in creative media we watched Wall-E. Our homework was to discuss the different emotions that Wall-E and Eve convey to the audience without talking. They both convey emotions very strongly, Eve through the digital part of her eyes and her very small arms and lastly Wall-E through the tin part of his eyes and his body language which is pretty much a box but still gets the message across. This movie shows that without talking emotions can still be known.

Reflection
Yesterday in creative media we started off talking to Mr. Andrews and he showed us what a stick-fur was. After we saw this we then kept on working on our animation. We continued working on and fixing up our little main character, the little boy that features in our film. Once we had fixed him up completely we thought we better experiment with our character to make sure all his limbs move appropriately and do what we want them to do. We used i stop motion and tryed filming with both of the cameras the web-cam and the one that has a stand. We found that the one with a stand would probably be a lot better as it is more mobile and stable. Whilst experiments we also how many steps we wanted our character to take or movements for each step. This was harder than we thought as it is the difference between it being smooth or not. We also had to make sure that our character would stand up straight and be stable by its-self with out the support of our hands. This was a very good idea for us to do this as it will make us a lot better prepared for when we start to film the actual animation. Georgia and I still haven't made the policeman or ladder out of clay but I am sure this will not take long and as we have had practiced with the boy and are a lot more familiar with the ways and techniques of making them.

Definitions
Animation:
1. A key frame in animation and filmmaking is a drawing that defines the starting and ending points of any smooth transition.
Tweening:
1. Inbetweening or tweening is the process of generating intermediate frames between two images to give the appearance that the first image evolves smoothly into the second image.
Stop-motion animation:
In its simplest form, stop-motion animation is physically manipulating a model, taking an image, then moving the model slightly, one frame at a time to create the illusion of movement.
- The state of being full of life or vigor; liveliness.
- The state of being alive.

Reflection 05/0612
Today in Creative Media George and I started making our character out of clay and also completed our first set. This was very good for us as we also saw how it was all going to come together and everything else. We also discovered that making a character out of clay is harder than it looks as you have to firstly make the skeleton out of bendy wire and then put clay on top of that. This makes it a lot more moveable and easy to put the character from one play to another with out it falling into pieces and changing alot instead of a little bit.
