Self-reflection/evaluation:

detail as possible in your responses.
Teamwork during Pre-Production:

Describe any problems or
difficulties your group encountered while developing your music video concept
and deciding upon music;
Our group
did not encounter many problems or difficulties whilst trying to formulate our
idea or concept. We did take a fair amount of time to narrow the song and ideas
to one, but nothing that dramatically affected our time schedule.

Explain whether your group
effectively used the pre-production and planning templates prior to filming;
I think
our group used the pre-production time very well in terms of story-boarding,
shot list, props and costumes list and organizing our filming schedule although
it did not really go to plan. I think our planning templates were done well as
they were very useful during our very limited amount of time we had to film.

Describe whether your group
made effective use of their time in class during pre-production. (Did each
group member; contribute; have set tasks at all times; know their role in the
group etc.)
Yes the
group did use its time effectively during class. As there were a lot of times
that one or more members of the group were away we had to use our time wisely
and have planned what we were going to do if this was to happen, which it did.
I think every member of the group contributed equally and did what they
required. Some may have done more than others but this was not intentional and
was because another group member was either sick or unable to.

List some steps your group could
(or did) implement to improve in this area;
Our group
implemented the use of many time schedules and many organising schedules that
were changed a lot during the filming process, as this was what required. This
was required due to the illness, group members being away and working around
the schedule of our co-curricular, families and the junior school.
Teamwork during Production and
Post-Production:

Discuss how your group used storyboards,
shot-lists and a shooting schedule to assist during the filming making process;
Our group
did not complete many storyboards for this assessment. This was because we did
not have that many complex shots and did not require them. In terms of our
shot-list it was very useful and was done well during the filming and planning
process. Our shooting schedule was probably the most useful planning tool
during our film making process though. As we had so many schedule changes it
was very useful and kept everyone organised knowing what they needed to bring
and be when, where and why.

Did your group experience any organisational
issues during filming, (i.e. members who were absent or did not contribute;
finding suitable times to film; forgetting shot-lists, costumes; not booking
equipment etc.) How did you manage or work around these difficulties?
Our group
did experience organisational issues during filming but this was not our fault.
The first problem we encountered was our filming at the Junior School
experience. We had organised with Ms. Fellows to film on a day where we had
gotten permission to miss out on chapel so we could go film during their
“playground time”, but when we got down their we were turned away because it
was the Junior School Open Day and she had forgotten about this. We then were
able to re-schedule our junior school filming for another time, which we
eventually got done. The second problem we encountered was when we had
everything organised and Christie got sick. As her sickness was re-occurring we
then did not have our filming done in time as we had organised to do it at her
house and she was in hospital. Mr. Andrews after informing him of our situation
was able to give us an extension from which we filmed and edited it all in one
weekend, apart from the Junior School shoots. Other than these two issues our
group was very good in terms of booking equipment, bringing costumes and
finding suitable times to film.

Describe any problems or
difficulties you encountered during post-production and editing. These may
include; technical difficulties, corrupt or missing files, group related
issues. etc;
We did
not encounter any difficulties during the post-production and editing. As we
filmed and edited all in one weekend we were all their to assist each other
throughout the whole process, if we missed something we could just go re-film
it and if we forgot how to do something someone in the group most of the time
remembered how to do it.

Did your group complete all
shots as detailed in your planning?
Yes we
did complete majority of the shots as detailed as they were in the planning and
some we even made even more detailed.
Discuss your individual feelings
about the Music Video Task:

Are you group satisfied with
the final result?
Yes considering the
circumstances our group was under I’m very happy with the final result.

Would like to change any
aspects of your music video or its original concept?
No there are no aspects of the
music video I would change.

If you could start the project
again what would you do differently?
If I
could do the music video again I would have filmed at the original house we had
planned to which was Christies. I would have done this because that was
originally what our storyboards and set out had been planned for. By doing this
it would have also probably made our video just that more bit more organised
and would have made it make more sense.

Was it easier planning, filming
and managing your time during this project than your first film? Why?
Yes I
found this project a lot easier to plan, film and manage time with then the
last even though we had more difficulties. I found this project better to plan,
film and manage as I was with my friends, who I enjoyed spending time with and
I knew that they would definitely do their designated portion of work. This
made the music video a lot easier as I did not have to stress about the others
doing their work, where as with the last assignment I did.

Did your treatment accurately
reflect your video or were the substantial differences between the concept and
final product?
Yes, I
think my treatment very accurately explained and reflected on my video. I don’t
think there were any substantial differences between my video and my treatment
as when we were filming it actually was exactly how I pictured it in my head.
The idea of our concept being one girl dying in the treatment and two girls
actually dying in the music video was the only big change in our music video as
the rest both matched.
Consider whether you undertook
adequate and detailed reflection to throughout your project. Have you provided
enough evidence to support your work? (Does the work on your blog/journal represent
6 weeks’ worth of work).
I think I did do an adequate and
detailed amount of reflections throughout the before, during and after of the
music video process. I think I did provide enough evidence to support my work
throughout the term, but I do think I did lack the amount of evidence towards
the end. I think I did not do as many reflections towards the end as we were
under a lot of pressure with time and being able to film our music video. I do
think my blog represents 6 weeks of work and does support everything I did and
the planning, filming and post process of making our music video Pictures of
You.
